Lana’i Fifth Friday is back in action!

The Lāna‘i Chamber of Commerce announced today that, in cooperation with Coalition for a Drug Free Lāna‘i (CDFL), Tri-Isle Resource Conservation & Development Council, Inc. and with the support of the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development (OED), it will be holding its twelfth Fifth Friday Event. The Lāna‘i Chamber of Commerce urges Maui residents and visitors to support Lāna‘i businesses by attending the upcoming 5th Friday Town Party in Lāna‘i City on September 29, 2017.
Line Dancing with Calvin Inouye’s Western Line Dancers at 7pm in front of the Chamber Tent.
‘Ohina Film Festival will begin showing short films as soon as it is dark. The screen will be set up on the 7th Street side of the Lanai Community Center.
Prize Drawing is at 8pm in front of the Chamber Tent.
Lanai High School teams will be providing games for children of all ages.
Praise Chapel Maui will have free games and prizes.
Filipino, Hawaiian, Mexican and Mixed Plate specials around the square.
Local Lanai Entertainment will be featured in/outside various business.
“Pidgin City” will be next to Blue Ginger (the old Canoes).
Jazz music will be at the Art Center.
Max and Friends will be at Coffee Works.
I-Drive will be at Pele’s Other Garden
To accommodate the special Friday event, the Lāna‘i Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with Expeditions Ferry and the OED to provide a 5th Friday Lāna‘i Package ferry that includes ground transportation between Maui and Lāna‘i, including a special late–night ferry that departs Manele Harbor at 9:45 p.m. Expeditions’ last ferry to Maui on a regular day is at 6:45 p.m.
This 5th Friday Lāna‘i Package includes a roundtrip ferry ride between Lahaina Harbor and Manele Harbor, round–trip ground transportation between Manele Harbor and Lāna‘i City, and an event passport. Visiting participating business and collecting stamps for the passport gains entry into a free prize drawing. Details can be found at www.fifthfridaylanai.com.
Residents and visitors can choose to depart from Lahaina on the Expeditions ferry at 9:15 a.m., 12:45 p.m. or 3:15 p.m.; however, the return from Manele Harbor is limited to 9:45 p.m. only. The cost for the package is $60 per adult and $50 per child and can be booked at https://goo.gl/Rud7Ak. The Friday Town Party event, which runs from 5:30-8:00 p.m., will feature over 30 vendors and participants. Around Dole Park there will be food booths and restaurants serving up special local favorites as well as several music and entertainment venues. The ‘Ohina Short Film Showcase returns to this Fifth Friday with a showing in the park at sunset on the big screen. More info on ‘Ohina may be found at http://ohina.org.
