WEATHERWatch: Sunny skies and the trade winds are back in the forecast

Partly sunny skies today as trade wind weather is back in full swing. Scattered showers for windward and mauka spots mainly in the morning and evening hours. Isolated leeward showers with highs in the mid to high 80’s. East winds from 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35.

Drier and locally breezy trade wind weather will prevail across the state through the next few days. Maui County may experience slightly weaker trade winds by the weekend and an increase in showers towards the later part of the weekend into early next week.

SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY posted until 6:00pm Thursday for the Pailolo Channel, Alenuihaha Channel and Maalaea Bay.

Surfwise, Small SSE swell mix with ankle-knee-waist high waves across the better southerly exposures of Maui. Moderate tradeswell also continues for exposed breaks. Small south mix for the next few days.
