Tropical Depression forms SE of Mexico

NHC is issuing advisories on newly formed Tropical Depression Nineteen-E. It’s centered over the eastern North Pacific Ocean about 1070 miles (1725 km) southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, moving toward the west near 16 mph (26 km/h). This general motion with some decrease in forward speed is expected during the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. The depression is expected to become a tropical storm later today and a hurricane during the weekend. The next name on the eastern North Pacific list is “Olaf”.
