UPDATE: At 9:05 p.m., radar indicated heavy rain continuing over many areas of Maui. The heaviest rain was affecting the windward and southeast slopes of Haleakala, and windward locations from Hamoa to Huelo.
The National Weather Service has ISSUED a FLOOD ADVISORY for MAUI ISLAND in effect until 12:00 a.m.
A Flash Flood Watch is also in effect for Maui County until late Friday night.

At 6:13 p.m., radar indicated heavy rain that will cause minor flooding affecting most of Maui. Radar and rain gauge observations were showing rain falling at up to 2 inches per hour.
