Special Weather Statement Issued for Maui County

EVENT: The National Weather Service has ISSUED a SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT for MAUI COUNTY for this weekend.

EFFECTS: A fast-moving cold front is expected to sweep across the island chain this weekend bringing a brief period of showers. The front is expected to reach Kauai late Saturday then move quickly through the rest of the islands by Sunday morning.

Very cool, dry and gusty north winds are expected Saturday night and Sunday after the front passes. It will be locally windy and strong wind gusts are possible downwind of higher terrain. If you have loose outdoor objects consider securing them before the winds increase. Stay tuned for forecast updates, especially if you have outdoor plans this weekend.
