At 6:16 a.m., radar indicated moderate to heavy showers anchored along the lower windward slopes of east Maui, upslope from Nahiku to Hana and Hamoa to Kaupo. Rainfall rates will be 1 to 2 inches per hour, resulting in rapid stream rises in east Maui, including the Oheo gulch.
Locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to Kipahulu, Nahiku and Nuu.
The National Weather Service has ISSUED a FLOOD ADVISORY for MAUI ISLAND in effect until 9:15 a.m.
