In a story that quickly became viral, reggae superstar Matisyahu sang along to his hit “One Day” at a Paia Coffee Shop with local boy Clint (Kekoa) Alama the weekend before he headlined a local music festival last month. The video recorded by Matis bass player Stu Brooks has been viewed over 2.6 million times and it’s not stopping.
In a Facebook Live Video late Friday afternoon, both Stu and Matis called Kekoa to invite him to sing “One Day” live at a show in Los Angeles August 12th. Kekoa mentions on the live call that he has a probation violation that might restrict him from flying. Matis graciously offered to “talk to whoever I have to talk to” with his case to help him make the show. Matis says that Kekoa is “trying to create love & light for the world”.
We hope he can make that performance live at the Palladium. A performance that could change the course of his life forever. Good luck Kekoa!
