The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no tsunami threat to Hawai’i following a preliminary 7.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred 16.6 miles west-southwest of Balangonan, Philippines.
According to PTWC, the earthquake occurred at 10:30 a.m. Hawai’i time.
United States Geological Survey officials say the earthquake was located 22.6 miles south-southwest of Glan, Philippines; 22.6 miles south-southwest of Malapatan, Philippines; 38.3 miles south-southwest of Lun Pequeno, Philippines; and 71.1 miles south-southeast of Koronadal, Philippines.
