At 5:00 PM, the center of Tropical Depression Fernanda was located 675 miles East of Hilo, Hawaii. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph and this motion is expected to continue through system dissipation on Monday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph with higher gusts. Continued weakening is forecast until Fernanda dissipates on Monday.
Large swells generated by Fernanda will continue to build through the weekend along east facing shores of the main Hawaiian Islands. The resultant surf will be large and potentially dangerous.
