Hana Man in Custody For Attempted Murder

At about 5:30 p.m., Thursday, officers from the Hana Patrol Division arrested 36 year old Shaun Nishida of Hana.  Nishida was wanted for allegedly stabbing another male the day before in Lahaina.

Nishida was arrested for the offense of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.  He is currently being held without bail.

On Wednesday at about 10:50 p.m., police were dispatched to the shoreline area of Honoapiilani Highway near the recycling & refuse center in Olowalu.  Two males had gotten into a fight and one male stabbed the other.  The suspect then got into his vehicle and fled the area prior to police arrival. 

The victim, a 45 year old male from Lahaina, was transported to the hospital emergency room in serious condition and was treated for his injuries.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
