Small Brush Fire Burned on the Pali Sunday

At 4:34 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018, firefighters responded to a brush fire on Honoapiilani Highway in Maalaea.

Wailuku firefighters arrived at 4:47 p.m. and found a 200 foot long by 15 foot wide section of brush burning on the makai shoulder of the highway, just Wailuku side of Kaheawa Wind Farm access road.

Police briefly had vehicle traffic on Honoapiilani Highway alternating on a contraflow pattern until firefighters could fully extinguish the fire at just after 5 p.m.

Cause of the fire was undetermined.
