Liquor Audit extended to September 21

PC: Mahina Martin

The performance audit of the Department of Liquor Control has been extended to September 21, 2018, Councilmember Yuki Lei Sugimura announced today.

The Council authorized the Council Chair to contract for the audit in February. The selected auditors, Harvey M. Rose Associates, LLC, have been working on the audit since May 21.

“To ensure the auditors have enough time to prepare a thorough audit report, they were given an additional three weeks to complete the audit,” said Sugimura. The auditor’s final report was originally due on August 31.

Sugimura added that the time extension for the audit allows more time for the community to submit input to the auditors on the Department’s operations. The public is encouraged to submit comments by August 31 to [email protected]
