Good Eats: Home Maid Bakery

Known for their famous manju Home Maid Bakery also creates other lesser-known delectable treats, that are just as good as their mainstay. In operation for close to sixty years, after being founded by Joseph and Monica Kozuki, this humble bakery aims to craft “the best tasting products using the highest quality of raw ingredients with no added preservatives at the best possible price.”

The Wailuku location is regarded as the home of their famous crispy Manju but did you know they make other mouthwatering baked goods (sandwiches and lunch items) too?
Here’s a look at what we are craving right now:

Say hello to the deliciously addicting Mochi Donut, which is chewy, sweet yet light. It’s unlike any other texture you’ve had before because of the delightful mochi addition to the batter.
Pan De Leche – Sweet Milk Rolls are perfect at the dining room table any time of day, breakfast, lunch, dinner or even as dessert.
A popular item during the holidays is the Pumpkin Custard Pie, a classic that also beholds a fantastic flaky crust.
Classic Donuts – perfectly glazed, tender yet fluffy and made fresh. Try the glazed croissant, cinnamon twist and donut holes for sure!
Puff Pastry – elegantly baked to perfectly with the right amount of sweet, flaky and deliciousness. Enjoy fresh fruit flavors and delightful crisp textures.
If you’ve never had it you have to try their fresh Malasadas! Light, fluffy, sprinkled with sugar and filled with custard if you like – these malasadas do not disappoint one bit.
