Brush Fire Burns One Acre in Wailea

At 4:48 p.m. on Wednesday, Maui Fire Department firefighters were called to the area of Heleuma Place in Wailea for reports of a brush fire.

On scene, crews reported a working fire in heavy brush located adjacent to Wailea Alanui Drive and Heleuma Place. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down flames and the fire was declared contained at 5:05 p.m., and extinguished at 6:18 p.m.

Approximately one acre of brush was burned.

Two engines, a ladder truck, and tanker responded.

No injuries or damages occurred and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
