Trio Arrested in Wailuku Vehicle Search Warrant Execution

On Tuesday, April 16, the Maui Police Department’s Vice Division executed search warrants on a vehicle in the parking lot of 1063 Lower Main Street in Wailuku.

Authorities say that in the vehicle, officers recovered 429.90 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 1.04 grams of marijuana and $7,840 in U.S. currency.

Thirty-five-year-old Lorden Cooper, 35-five-year-old Janell Demello Orta and 39-year-old Jamen Sugahara were arrested.

All three were arrested for the offenses of Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the First Degree, Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Third Degree, Promoting a Detrimental Drug in the Third Degree, Promoting a Controlled Substance Near a Park and Criminal Conspiracy.

Cooper and Sugahara were charged and bail set at $81,000 each. Demello Orta was release pending further investigation.
