The public is invited to one of the largest holiday events on Maui, this Thursday, July 4th 2019. Historically more than 20,000 visitors and kama’aina are welcomed to Front Street to celebrate, shop and dine on the 4th of July. Front Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. from Hotel street to Baker street. Live music on the Library Lawn hosted by the Lahaina Rotary. Enjoy vendors, shopping, and a real life Game Show in Campbell Park hosted by Game Show Fanatics founder Brenton Keith and sponsored by the Maui Pineapple Store. “I’m thrilled to be bringing a very special ‘Freedom’ edition of our interactive gameshow production to Campbell Park this 4th of July! Shows times start at 6pm & 8:15pm and over $1,000 in prizes will be given away” said Keith, “Arrive early with your team of five if you would like the chance to play Game Show Fanatics!”
Activities throughout Front Street will include magicians, stilt walkers, face painters, free community concerts, and a classic car show. The cars will be parked on Front Street starting from The Outlets of Maui. Ashley Leal the General Manager of Fleetwood’s said “The 4th of July brings a lot of people down to Front Street to watch fireworks, listen to music, and participate in various family activities on the street. Our Rooftop event is one of our most successful parties of the year and we’re thankful for Lahaina Town’s support in making the Holiday bigger and better every year for our guests.”
“Before the fireworks we are excited to welcome the Maui Taiko Drummers performing in front of Fleetwoods.” Sne Patel, President of LahainaTown Action Committee mentions “It’s wonderful to have this many visitors from all over the world come to visit the westside of Maui to dine, shop, and visit our historical sites.”
LahainaTown Action Committee and the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development are proud to organize and support this publicly funded Firework Show each year. Parking will be open this year at the Lahaina Cannery Mall where you can do some shopping and take the shuttle to Front Street. You can also visit the Outlets of Maui for a day of concerts, shopping, and park for only $12. Whalers Village is another location to enjoy daytime activities in Ka’anapali and take the shuttle down to Lahaina for the Fireworks. The Visitor Center in Lahaina is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, provides free, friendly and unbiased information to the public. LahainaTown Action Committee also serves as a liaison between residents, businesses, and other organizations to maintain the historic districts of Lahaina and address the concerns of the West Maui community.
