Seven People Displaced After Wailuku House Fire

Maui Fire Department crews responded to a structure fire on Holowai Place in Wailuku on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters arrived to find fire penetrating through the roof on one side of the home. The home was located up a steep driveway and firefighters pulled fire fighting lines about 300 feet to get to the home.

The fire was brought under control around 4:10 p.m. and called extinguished at 6:00 PM.

Seven people were displaced from the home and are now being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
