Hiker Rescued After Falling in Hana

The Maui Fire Department responded to a hiker in distress on Thursday in the area of Hana.

Authorities say the hiker was attempting a hike from Hana Bay around Ka`uiki Head to Kaihalulu when he fell approximately 15 feet.

The 22-year-old was removed from the area by foot after being located in a heavily wooded area at the 200-foot elevation on Ka`uiki Head.

He was treated by medics at the scene. Officials report that he suffered scrapes and scratches from the fall.
