Kapalua Fire Burns Two Acres

The Maui Fire Department responded to a brush fire north of Maiha Street in Kapalua on Monday.

Crews arrived following a 6:56 p.m. alarm to find several small areas of brush on fire.

Fire personnel worked to extinguish the fires and electrical crews de-energized power lines in the area.

The fire was contained by 7:23 p.m. and deemed out at 10:55 p.m.

A total of two acres burned in the blaze. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
