Police Search for Hali’imaile Stabbing Suspect

On October 13, 2020 at about 6:02 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the tennis courts at Haliimaile Park, in regards to a stabbing that had just occurred.  Upon arrival, the male victim (32) was located with stab wounds.

 The male suspect, later identified as Kaikala Young (26), of Kihei fled the area within a sedan which was later recovered by police was abandoned. 

 The victim was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center for further treatment.

 Young is described as a Hawaiian male, 6’4” tall, 195 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Young expressed to friends he is armed with firearms, and will get in a shootout with Police. 

 Young may be operating a Tan 2005, Ford F150 pickup truck bearing Hawaii license plate #BP180.  

 Do not approach Kaikala Young, anyone with information is asked to contact Maui Police Department by dialing 9-1-1, if it is not an emergency dial 808-244-6400. Young is thought to be in possession of firearms and is considered dangerous.
